Loose Canon Brewery Tour - This is a bit different to some of the other events which people post in this group, but, some of us have been discussing a club night to the very popular Loose Canon Brewery in Abingdon for one of their tours. £15 per head gets you a brief tour, unlimited ale (there is something for everyone), a free pint or half pint glass and sausage & chips (veg option available).

The next tour is on Tuesday 18th October at 7pm and finishes at 21:30 and there are still plenty of spaces available. I am already booked on so if anyone would like to join me, please contact me and I'll let you know further details/how to book. There is also information on the Loose Canon website. contact Simon woods on the facebook page or message Secretary@didcotrunners.org.uk who will pass the message on.

Dear All, Cross Country details have been announced.

The venues are more local to us this season which should allow more of our runners to take part in this awesome winter event. Check out the link for more information on the league http://www.oxonxc.org.uk  If you are interested in having your name down for cross country, send me a message and I will add you to the team sheets. This year it is even more important to let me know your interests and it will not be so easy to 'turn up and run' - See the club website for Cross Country information http://didcotrunners.org.uk/cross-country

Kind regards Theresa and Andrew  secretary@didcotrunners.org.uk

Beginners - same time, same place next week

A big welcome to all the beginners that came to the first session last night, it was a really great turn out and we hoped you all enjoyed the session (and that you don't ache too much this morning).  Everyone put in a brilliant effort on the 'magic mile'.

If you couldn't make it for the first week, don't worry, print off the form and bring it along with you to the next session and let the run leaders know you will be coming. https://www.facebook.com/groups/448710201921051/

The first step is always the hardest and that's the one that gets you out of the door. Well done to you all. See you all next week.

Tail Runner changes as of November '16

The tail runners doddle poll is still in operation and can be found pinned to the facebook group page. http://doodle.com/poll/bd6iww28f9aycmq6

As a committee, we have discussed the relevance for a tail runner over a number of committee meetings that we hold each month and as a result felt that it isn't useful as they do not run the full route, therefore are not in a position to help out with any first aid equipment that they carry around with them and can not guarantee runners safe return from the route.
This was getting increasingly difficult to conjure up volunteers to help without the threat of over-nagging on a weekly basis.

We discussed that what we need is for the tail runner to run the full route to benefit the club and its members.

The committee will not actively pursue people to tail run anymore, the doodle poll will be in action until the end of October as a trail period and then we will review it at a later date.

If anyone is unhappy with this please approach a member of the committee and your views will be discussed at the next committee meeting in October, alternatively if you have any other suggestions then please speak to one of us.

We are here to help you run the club how you would like it, we are here to listen to you. If you would like to hold an ordinary meeting, please contact a member of the committe and we wil be happy to discuss your view and ideas.
