B&CA Gala evening

For those of you who missed Tuesday nights introduction, last Friday night myself, Dave KnoppJudy Foster and Paul Griffiths (Dave, Judy and Paul are a few of our longest serving members) had the honour of representing the club at the Didcot First - Business and Community Awards. It was an "interesting evening" (quote provided by Dave Knopp) with several speeches including one from local MP Ed Vaizey, performances from local acts, quite a lot of clapping and some good company of course!

Although the club didn't win the award we should be proud to have been shortlisted (1 of 3) for the award of Best Established Charity/Community Group by our peers within the wider Didcot community. Being shortlisted shows that the community recognises the clubs efforts to bring people together through running, raise money for local charities and provide training and support to encourage people to get involved with the sport.

So I would like to say thank you to those who put the club forward for nomination; Carla HowesSam Eggleton and Theresa Lamble. In addition to the wonderful Vanessa Jane Armond who worked hard in her spare time to gathered information from Eileen NaughtonGeoffrey JacksonLisa Martin and the Didcot 5 team to support the committee's nomination.

Finally a huge thank you to everyone involved with the club, it is really the members who make our club friendly, welcoming and successful.

Well done everyone!

If this is you, you should log into http://www.thepowerof10.info OR http://www.runbritainrankings.com.  These websites are linked, if you are signed into Power of 10, then you can not duplicate in the Run Britain website, vice versa.  This allows you to check all of your runs that are associated with your England Athletics membership number. It tells you all of your PB's for every race distance you have achieved, plus park run results.  Its' fantastic, check it out and see how far you have come. It also ranks you with Runbritainrankings too, so you can see national ranking ladders etc.  Always worth a look, even if your performances have dropped off due to injury or lack of motivation. You will be buried in statistics forever, good luck everyone.
