Thank you to everyone that showed up the the Rounds of Cross Country. It has been a brlliant season. Final results are to be published.

Round 5 of Cross Country- Hill End, Sunday 5th March

apologises for the long post, but it has info about the Round, Meal and standings both team and individual

Who is coming to race in this Round? and who will be coming to the post race lunch?
Please let me know by Sunday 26th February, so I can inform the league manager of our teams and inform the pub.

What are the race timings?
Mens Race 11:25- 8.5km
Ladies Race 12:05 - 6.5km
What do you need to bring: Race numbers, (I have spares) Club Vest, £3.00 car parking money and a smile.
Meet at the club for lift sharing at 09:45.

Ladies are in Division 3 position 15, 31 out of 35 teams. (moved up)
Team A: Moved UP 2 places from last round, Keep an eye on teams: Eynsham, Bicester and Cherwell
Team B: Moved UP 5 places from last Round, Keep an eye on teams:abingdon F & E and Witney D
Team C: we didn't qualify for Team c this round.
Men are in Division 3 position 11 out of 27 teams. (Held position)
Team A: holding our position from round one.Keep an eye on teams: Highworth and take position to score less points. 
Team B: We didn't qualify for Team B this round

Results from Round 3
Ladies
Team A have moved from 15th to 13th, our main aim is to get less points so we move up the division. so ladies we need to keep Newbury, Alchester and Radley behind us. 

Team B
To hold position, at 28th, for the end for the Round, we need to Witney, Abingdon and Headington safely behind us, or pip them at the last sprinting point to get the points.

Men qualified for 1 team, the A team, and what a team that has been over the season, we have moved up 1 position and are now in the top 10 at 10th, with Highworth on our Tail.. Next round we really need to be looking out for them and making sure they are in our rear view mirror at all times to hold our position. Ladies we need to keep an eye on this team to motivate the men to keep in the top 10. 

(taken individual standing off of the wesbite, but are announced on the FB page) As you can see, the last round has a lot riding on it.. make sure you can make it to the final Round, see if you can beat the other clubs and also your team mates in your category to make a difference to the final standings.

Didcot 5 advertising help from members

We need your help... We are looking for members to help advertise our Didcot 5 event.

We would need a number of members to have an William Jones Estate Agents 'For Sale' board a couple of weeks before the event in July. (http://www.wjestates.co.uk)

Your house would need to be on a busy traffic road / near public amenities/ schools etc to maximise the advertising. You do not need to live in Didcot,Surrounding villages are welcome, any house is great, maybe your family live elsewhere but have a good plot for advertising. 

The Estate Agent has offered us £10 per board to donate to the chosen charities. 

If you would be interested in having a board, please let me know along with you address and postcode or contact Sian Loveless or Katie Oliver and we can pass on your details to the Estate Agents who will confirm the houses they will use for advertising.

#RunandTalk evening

Tuesday 31st Jan  is#RunandTalk run
We are running the Hagbourne Route, don't forget your torches.
(#RunandTalk week during the 28th Jan- 3rd Feb)

We have registered a run for #RunandTalk week, through RunTogether to improve our mental wellbeing through running and to break down the stigma associated with mental health by getting people talking about it.

Ideas for your run:
- Take a few minutes to say hello to someone that you don't usually talk to. introduce yourself and find out one thing about them.

- Buddy yourself with another person you don't normally run with. maybe that person is a member or maybe they are trying the club out for their first time. 

- Pace yourself slower so you can talk to more than one person.

- Stay behind for a drink and a social chat at The Ladygrove.

Whatever you decide to do, chat with friends and have fun. Think of how you are improving your own wellbeing and others.

Are you receiving club emails? If you are but they keep going into your junk folder, simply follow these instructions below:  Add the senders address to your trusted list and address book. (Your email provider is deciding what is junk, based on keywords in subject and message).

Adding safe addresess should over-ride this.

If you are still having issues, please let me know.  All messages will be added to the website, so please do keep an eye on website to see if you are missing information.  If you don't tell me, I won't know to help you and I am here to help you.

New Beginners course- Start date Thursday 16th February 2017

New to 2017, new to running, new look to beginners.

Yes, our beginners group has under gone a massive face lift.

Our aim, remains the same, to get you to run 5Km in 8 weeks.

The venue and time, remains the same, Didcot Football Club at 18:50 for a 19:00 start.

The beginners Group is now registered with RunTogether. Registration will be on-line. Please follow the link: https://runtogether.co.uk/

We will now meet on a Thursday evening. The cost will be £15.00 for the 8 weeks course.

The new start date is now 16th February.

Finally, one thing that hasn't changed will be the fun and friendly environment of the Beginners Group.

NOTE FROM THE LEAGUE MANAGER Anyone seen urinating in public will be identified and their club informed. The individual identified will be disqualified from the race and banned from the League. This is private land. There will be no access for runners or vehicles before 09.00am on February 5th.
