A special mention to Sian Loveless who came 10th overall in the County Cross Country Championships on Saturday 7th January at Stowe. It was a tough field and well attended.Well done Sian.
Dear All Members. The AGM is fast approaching and it is my responsibility to advertise the committee vacancies for 2017. So listed below are the positions that we require nominees for:
- Vice Chair
- Membership Secretary
- Social Secretary
- Wellbeing Officer
- Championship Coordinator
- Cross Country Coordinator
However, please note that all positions are considered vacant on the evening; including Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
A draft copy of the Roles & Responsibilities of Committee Officers is attached to your email. Please note that this document shall be discussed and voted on during the AGM before it is formally accepted. We would like you all to have a read through and if you feel you are the right person for a role, please nominate yourself via email to Theresa (email@example.com) by 17th January. Note that all nominations must be seconded by another member.
If more than one person stands for the same role, there will be a ballot at the AGM to decide who takes ownership of the role. Please note only First Claim members can vote (if required) on any motion raised during the AGM.
There will be an ordinary meeting next Tuesday (10th January) to present the results of the tail runner survey and to discuss what the club would like us to do with the findings going forward. If anyone has any other buisness they would like to discuss please let myself or Theresa know. The meeting will be at the Football club following the club run; I will aim to start at around 8.15 pm. I hope that as many people as possible can attend as this is an important topic for the club.
We would like to invite you all to Didcot Runners Annual General Meeting (AGM) / Awards Night
This is an important night for the club; it’s a chance to see how far the club has come since the last AGM, what we have achieved as a club and as individuals and most importantly where we all want to be for the future.
What will it entail?
The purpose of the meeting will be to review the club’s progress over the past year (including the club finances and membership status) and to elect committee members for the following year. Immediately after the AGM, we will be presenting awards to our members for this year’s Championships and a few other categories.
The Club AGM and Awards Night will take place on Friday 27th January 2017. 7.15pm for 7.30pm start in the Function room of the Didcot Town Football Club.
The AGM Agenda will be sent out in January. If you would like anything adding to the Agenda, please let me know ASAP.
We would like to ask members to bring a plate for a buffet that evening as this worked very well for the Didcot 5 presentation.
In a few moments you will receive a survey via email from SurveyMonkey for the award nominations, this will enable the committee to collate all information prior to the night, or if you would prefer you can email me(a reply slip has been emailed to you if you'd like to use that method) (Secretary@didcotrunners.org.uk ) with your nominations for the following categories:
• Most Inspiring Marathon Debut, in memory of Vince Gallagher.:Nominations are included in the poll
• Best home parkrun, judged by age grading.: Please email me with your name, best parkrun time, date you achieved this, and age grade for that parkrun. The parkrun time and age grade must be from your home parkrun, and must be from the period 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2016.
• Club Contributor of the Year.: Please can you send me your nominations – this should include Name of Nominee, together with a couple of lines explaining why you would like to nominate that person or yourself. The names will be shortlisted and voted for on the night.
• Most Improved Runner Male and Female.: Please send me your nominations, together with a couple of lines as to why you wish to nominate them.
Please let me have your nominations for Awards by Friday 6th January.

I’ve had confirmation Cross Country Round 3 is CANCELLED. However there is a different Cross country race event available on Sunday 8th January that you are able to enter as an individual or if you’d like to get a few together as a team, you are able to do so.
This is not related to the Oxford Mail Cross Country League(OXL) and the points you earn at this venue will not be valid for the OXL.
