I am a local sports massage therapist, based mainly from the UTC Oxfordshire Sports centre in Didcot. I have recently moved to this location but have been working as a massage therapist for the last 11 years. As a local resident I am keen to support the local sports clubs and would like to offer a £5 discount on initial massage treatments for members of local clubs. I have worked with people from a range of sporting backgrounds, from athletics to more contact based sports such as rugby, and the treatment room that I work from is spacious enough to allow for demonstrations of stretches and exercises to help prevent further injury and promote self-care – something I am very keen to encourage for all clients.
...plus some new routes for us to try. We are making a presence around Didcot residential areas, one is Fleetmeadow and the other is at Great Western park. Both routes you are able to shorten or lengthen to suit your running ability. If any member has any other routes they would like to share please speak to a member of the committee. Head torches needed for some routes, so please read notes.
The route starts off flat and then gently undulates along footpaths, bridleways, and tracks up onto the Ridgeway National Path from where you can enjoy some stunning views of the rolling Oxfordshire countryside.

A great turn out for the Didcot Runners and another club came up to us to thank us for our own race, "we love your 5 mile race, its the best".
It started with a drizzly morning, but that soon cleared up for the run itself, which was a shame. A brief briefing and the gun was fired, a few long straights and then we were on our way home. A couple of club runners running a PB and some chasing other competitors and pacing them around the course. Well done to everyone that showed up and ran and also the supporters that cheered us on. A lovely meal post race at The Fishes, North Hinkey for refuelling and some social chats about Pigeon Street and the Joy of Painting.

From Andrew Casey Checkpoint 5 (Half way) of the 86 mile Ridgeway Challenge. A fantastic effort to even sign up to let alone get to this point and beyond. Supplying care, attention and rice pudding, the Didcot Runners and Compton Harrier did superbly. At that point in a challenge, a simple bowl of hot food and a tea is the best thing in the world. Well done everyone and especially Ben, Dan and all the other competitors for taking part.

The BACAs recognise and reward excellence amongst local businesses, community groups and young enterprise. The BACAs are open to organisations, businesses, charity, community groups and young people, in and around the Didcot area within the OX11 area including Culham Science Park, Harwell Campus, Milton Park, Southmead Industrial Estate and all the surrounding villages.
Our next beginners sessions will start on Tuesday 6th September 2016, meet at the Didcot Town Football Club for 18:45 ready to run for 19:00.it's an 8 week programme to get to 5km followed by 4 weeks of improvers sessions and opportunity to join the club at the end for those who would like to.
